Week (5) Devlog

This week we worked on fleshing out the graph to match the dynamic values of our stocks. Our previous code for doing this had proved too troublesome, so we switched to using a public library called XChart. This library was difficult to get used to but proved invaluable to letting us update the stock prices and making it easy to read and understand for the player. It also provided us with the option to scale the axes if the value of a stock becomes too high.

We have also implemented a feature allowing the player to purchase and sell stocks. As the game progresses in real time, the player will have to keep a close eye on the stock market to ensure they turn a profit.

This week's update again focused heavily on the technical development of the game's mechanics. In the following week we will be looking to flesh out the game a bit more and making it looker nicer visually, as well as some last-minute adjustments to tidy up the game before our vertical slice. The final scope of our game should be about ~5 minutes, giving the player enough time to have fun and explore the mechanics without it dragging on.
